With the shared tube design the slide carrying the fork arm can share the same chassis tube as the opposing slide, reducing attachment mass and increasing visibility around the beam.
By bridging the chassis over the existing forks on the carriage a four fork configuration can be achieved, however in this configuration the effective length of the fork will be reduced by the attachment thickness.
The cross over tube design of beam needs a separate box for each slide, this are mounted one on top of the other which reduces the visibility around the beam , and increases the overall mass, however a greater opening range can be achieved. In certain cases the centre of the chassis can be opened to create a window when the unit is at its maximum spread
The telescopic design further increases the opening range available for a specific chassis width.
